Flying in Brandenburg has Tradition

Otto Lilienthal - engineer, principal researcher and the first aviator in the history of mankind of - had lift-off after several attempts with his self-constructed flying machine in 1894 at the Gollenberg near Stölln in the Havelland and glided nearly 300metres. He was the first who handled a flying machine safe and repeatedly and so laid the foundation for today's flying. Thus in Stölln is the world's oldest airfield situated, founded by Otto Lilienthal with his first flights.
Up till today aviation has changed a lot of course. The diversity of airplanes and aviation equipment doesn't leave anything to be desired. Whether you want to experience Brandenburg's different perspective motorised, gliding, with the parachute or in a balloon, is up to you. Experienced teachers and pilots are available at the many airfields in Brandenburg to show you the uniqueness of aviation. Maybe flying will become your challenging and thrilling hobby.
