The museum, seemingly untouched by time gives one the opportunity to once again contemplate important highlights from the museum's village Glashütte. Every room has been adapted according to its earlier purpose and function.
The Hafenstube (port parlour) is situated in the foyer. The ports were built here, small ovens in which glass mixture was processed. Its wearout was high due to the enormous temperatures and increased glazing. That's why new oven had to be produced constantly.

Behind the parlour is a room where admission was then forbidden for external persons. Here company secrets were kept, for example the way glass was coloured and what kind of material was used.
One can learn this at the Gemengekammer (mixture chamber), which is now open to everyone.

The probably biggest exhibit awaits one in the oven hall itself: an old tub oven.
The production in Glashütte changed in 1954 from lampshades to fermenting balloons whereby the old tub oven was used again. Where in the old days wine cases were produced one can today learn in theory and practice how to produce show glass.
