The Alte Krug in Zossen

As Zossen is so favourably situated in regards to traffic it is very easy to reach the town's surrounding area be it nearby or far away. It also brings joy to take walks or ride the bicycle in the neighbourhood.
image author: city-map Teltow Fläming Zossen's oldest pub is the Alte Krug. It is the second oldest building (246 years), situated in the vineyards and is now used as a museum and meeting place.
It is in its kind a unique monument with one of the loveliest black kitchens in the state of Brandenburg.
There is no comparable rural house of this type from the 1st half of the 18th century in the Potsdam area with a similar high portion of original substance.
image author: city-map Teltow Fläming It can be traced back to 1831 as a public house. The whole social life of the vineyards took place at these premises. The building then served as a residence.
The last owner of the house died in 1982 at the age of 82 years.
image author: city-map Teltow Fläming In 1983 the district's counsel became the legal representative and with that the financing the reconstruction was possible.
The restoration became a complicated task. When during the time before re-unification the purchasing of material was the main reason for the hesitant proceeding it was the financing after the reunification, which created the main problem.
The re-building of the Alte Krug started in 1991. In 1992 the building became the property of the town Zossen.
Since 2002 it is also possible to use the terrain around the Alte Krug for events.
