image author: city-map Teltow Fläming Dennewitz is a very historical village. In the course of the independence wars one of the most importance battles to defend Berlin against Napoleon were fought on the fields of Dennewitz and surrounding area. The victory laid an important foundation for the successful run of the Battle of Leipzig, which led to the disintegration of the Napoleonic army. Situated at the museum's ground floor is a permanent exhibition about the battle near Dennewitz on the 6th of September 1813. The 2 x 2 metre diorama, which depicts the deciding scene of the battle's outcome with 2400 tin figures, forms the centre point of the exhibition.
